Watery Day

Well the farm is changing on a daily basis here.  I am starting to see the signs of spring everywhere you look.  The wee ones love it as well since they no longer have to worry about the super cold weather that we have had this winter.  The scarves have been put away!!  The mitts, hats, coats, snow pants, and boots remain!  One step at a time right?

It started with a HUGE rain the other night which didn't melt a lot of snow but did cause a lot of back up and puddles.

We had to unclog the ditches at the end of the road.  The whole family came out to help.

This is what it looks like just outside the barnyard.  We actually had to make little dams and direct the water away from our well and house.

Of coursed the wee ones LOVED the huge puddles and were jumping, running, splashing, discovering and doing just about whatever momma would let them do outside in the cold water.  This is our backyard right now.  I don't think their snow pants are helping keep the water out too well.

One of my own signs of spring is when we see a leftover apple from last year on the ground.  First it means that the snow is melting and second it means that there are new apples just waiting to get out and replace it.

The wee ones had so much fun but were ready to go in because they were getting WET and COLD.  It was great spending the time outside playing in puddles, even if they are more like small ponds right now.

Of course after the time outside in the puddles there was a load of laundry left too do but everything is washable so I don't mind.  We had so much fun playing together.  Take the time this spring and go jump in some puddles with your wee ones, I can guarantee that everyone will have fun.
